German Innovation for International Markets
Intech Clean Energy, based in Germany, is one of the companies selected to implement a reference project for its innovative renewable energy solution, the energy container, as part of the dena Renewable Energy Solutions Program (dena RES Program). With this program, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German Energy Agency helps German companies wishing to establish renewable energy technologies in foreign markets.
German Technology for Off-Grid Areas
The energy container developed by Intech in Germany is coupled with renewable energy sources such as solar, water or wind and supplies buildings and machines with electricity. The system can thus be implemented as an alternative to grid connection in remote areas.
Replacing Diesel Generators with Renewable Energy
According to Mr. Christoph Vollmer, Managing Director of Intech, the system was developed to replace diesel or liquefied petroleum gas power generators worldwide with power generation from renewable energy sources. Since electricity from sun and wind is not constantly available, the energy container is equipped with an appropriate power storage and the necessary control electronics.
Pilot Project in Alsace
The reference plant planned as part of the program has already been delivered to an organic agricultural operation in neighboring Alsace. The farm “Un Jardin et des Graines” has developed as an isolated farm off the grid. The energy container from Intech provides the entire power supply. As a renewable energy source, a solar installation is used, which is partially mounted on the energy container and partially installed as a rooftop system on an adjacent building. As a result, the entire energy demand is covered by solar power, offering the French organic farmer an excellent opportunity to express his commitment to sustainability.
Previous Exports and Growing Markets
The first systems have already been delivered to Australia (McKinlay) and Canada. Meanwhile, increasing demand from Europe and Africa has been clearly noted.
Increased Visibility in French-Speaking Markets
By participating in the dena RES program, Intech hopes to increase its visibility in the French-speaking world. High demand and growth opportunities are expected in the long term especially in the off-grid segment in the French overseas territories, which are to be actively addressed with the pilot project.
The dena-RES Program: A Boost for German Renewable Energy Technologies
This project is part of the worldwide dena Renewable Energy Solutions Program coordinated by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) – the German Energy Agency – and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) within the German Energy Solutions Initiative.
German Energy Agency (dena)
dena is Germany’s centre of expertise for energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and intelligent energy systems. As Agency for Applied Energy Transition, it helps achieve energy and climate policy objectives by developing solutions and putting them into practice, both nationally and internationally. In order to do this, it brings partners from politics and business together, across sectors. dena’s shareholders are the Federal Republic of Germany and the KfW Group.
German Energy Solutions Initiative
The transfer of energy expertise, the promotion of foreign trade and the facilitation of international development cooperation are part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative, which is coordinated and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The initiative offers networking and business opportunities in Germany and abroad, it showcases reference projects and facilitates know-how exchange.
dena Renewable Energy Solutions Program
The dena RES Program was developed by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) – the German Energy Agency. This program, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy within the German Energy Solutions Initiative, helps German renewable energy companies enter new markets. Within the framework of the program, reference and demonstration projects are installed in cooperation with prestigious institutions. The installation is accompanied by comprehensive PR, marketing and training programs. These projects showcase high-quality German renewable energy technology and help participating companies gain a foothold in new markets.
