Solar container to power a biodynamic farm

04.05.2025

In May 2019, the first energy container in France was installed on the biodynamic farm ‘Un Jardin et des Graines’ in Alsace, the first energy container in France was installed. The system enables complete electricity autonomy thanks to a 10.54 kWp photovoltaic system, off-grid inverters and a lithium-ion battery. An emergency generator is also available if required. The container is pre-assembled and tested at our site in Germany.

18 panels on the container and 16 on an outbuilding cover the entire electricity requirements of the farm – for example for watering and heating the greenhouses.

The system data can be viewed online by both the customer and the support team, and the scalable system can supply up to 300 kWp and is also suitable for remote areas without an electricity grid connection. This allows farmers to utilise clean energy and reduce their diesel consumption.

The project, subsidised by DENA, strengthens sustainable energy supply in the agricultural sector.

Special features:

  • Plug and play
  • Reduction of CO2 emissions
  • Reliable power supply in remote areas
  • Flexible and mobile
  • Long-term cost savings
